Church River Trip

In Luke 24:13-25, we read about the Walk to Emmaus where two disciples were feeling lost and confused after Jesus' crucifixion. Little did they know, Jesus was walking alongside them the entire time, even though they didn't recognize him at first. This story reminds us that Jesus is always with us, even when we can't see him.

In a world that values busyness and productivity, it can be easy to feel guilty for simply focusing on fellowship and community. But just as Jesus walked with the disciples and shared a meal with them, sometimes it's the simplest acts of kindness and connection that can have the greatest impact.

Let us not worry about the criticism we may receive for not doing "enough" in terms of missionary work. Instead, let us focus on creating spaces of love and acceptance, knowing that Jesus is present in those moments of connection. May we be reminded that Jesus is with us always, and that he calls us to love one another as he has loved us.
