Some Casual Participants

Dec 27, 2020    Bill Titus

The spotlight of the Christmas story often falls on Mary, Joseph, shepherds, and wise men — but what about the others? This sermon explores the roles of Simeon and Anna, two seemingly “casual participants” whose faith and witness affirm the identity of Jesus as the Messiah. As we close out the Christmas season, we’re reminded that the story of Jesus isn’t just for the major characters. It includes the faithful, the watchful, the unexpected — and that includes us. We may not be at the center of the nativity, but we are still part of God’s unfolding story.
